Coronavirus / COVID-19 situation Update

As the Coronavirus / COVID-19 situation continues to evolve we at Butler Smiles Dental Care will do our best to keep you informed as to how it impacts your dental care. The current American Dental Association’s recommendations are to limit dental treatment to emergency and urgent care. To protect our employees and our patients we are canceling all routine appointments through Friday, March 27th. Beyond that, we will make decisions based on scientific and government updates.

Dr. Todd and one Team member will be available for emergency appointments during the following times:

Monday 1pm – 3 pm
Tuesday 10am – Noon
Thursday 10am – Noon

If you feel you have a true dental emergency please call us at 724-282-7774 and we will get back to you as soon as possible to evaluate the situation.

To minimize potential exposure to others in the reception room (social distancing) we ask that you stay in your car until your appointment time and that only patients actually enter the office (with the exception of parents with minor children). When you enter the office we will have hand sanitizer available and ask that you use it upon entering. We will be taking everyone’s temperature with a digital ear thermometer before initiating treatment and provide you with antibacterial mouth rinse to use both before and after your appointment. We also will continue to use universal precautions for our protective apparel and follow CDC sterilization guidelines.

We ask that if you have recently traveled outside of the country or to known hot-spots such as New York City within 30 days, or if you have any flu-like symptoms that you do not come to the office for treatment. Anyone that has a compromised immune system or respiratory condition should not have dental treatment. People over the age of 80 are the most vulnerable to this virus, so we are suggesting anyone over the age of 75 should not have dental treatment unless it is a serious emergency with pain or swelling.

This continues to be a rapidly evolving situation and things could change quickly. We will keep you updated on changes as soon as possible.

Because we do not want to lose track of everyone whose appointments are being rescheduled, you may still receive confirmation messages from our confirmation service. Please ignore them.

Also, we want to assure everyone that has our Dental Savings Plan that we will be extending the term of your agreement so that you do not lose any of the benefits that you have paid for.
